Meghan Moser has been making art ever since she could hold a crayon in her hand. Born 1974 in San Diego into a Navy SEAL family, Meghan began her creative journey in Coronado. Her fascination with decorative surfaces led her to vandalize the neighborhood sidewalks and palm trees with colored chalk drawings in this small California beach town. As a military family, Meghan, her older brother, and parents moved back and forth to several places including Puerto Rico, California, Virginia, and North Carolina. While her mother was busy making curtains and decorating the numerous homes in which the family lived, Meghan was busy herself contemplating the often tasteless wallpaper that was left by previous tenants. This early interest in pattern and texture led her to earn a B.S. in Apparel Merchandising and a B.F.A. in Fabric Design from East Carolina University. After spending a few years in the real world, Meghan set out to earn her M.F.A. in Fabric Design at The University of Georgia. Meghan’s current interests include researching traditional and contemporary wallpaper, creating unusual wall installations from unexpected materials, and planning her next move, perhaps to a big city where she can put down some roots and hang up her own wallpaper.
